We’ve got huge interest in this year’s Mahurangi Regatta weekend which is amazing – with the weather forecast looking fantastic this is going to be a spectacular weekend on the water – don’t miss it!
Here’s a couple of final details – the launch parade map & route for all those taking part, and a few final reminders for those competing in race events.
Launch parade route
We have 16 launches registered so far to participate – if you have not registered yet and you intend to do so please contact Joyce Talbot via email or on 021 818 448 as soon as possible.
The above map shows the course – click on the image for a full PDF version.
There will be two laps past the beach. Please congregate off Scott’s Landing ready for a start around 1030hrs.
Racing – final reminders
A big fleet will line up at Devonport tomorrow at 1500hrs for the kick off to the weekend – including some new boats and some who haven’t raced with us in a long time which is fantastic!
All race documents are available online on the sailing page of the CYA website. Please read the sailing instructions carefully.
Three important reminders….
Night Race to Mahurangi – tomorrow: There will be no finish boat for classic yachts. The finish line is defined in the sailing instructions. Please take your own finish times and send a text message to Joyce Talbot on on 021 818 448. It would be helpful if you note any other yachts around
Mahurangi Regatta – Saturday: If you haven’t registered online, Mahurangi Cruising Club would appreciate it if you could register prior to the event.
Return passage race to Auckland – Sunday: It would be helpful if yachts passed close to the end of Orakei Wharf at the finish line to make yourselves clear to the team on the end of the wharf. An informal prizegiving will be held from 1800hrs in O’Hagan’s Irish Pub, Viaduct Harbour – there is a bottle of rum up for grabs in each division – but you need to be there to claim it!
