How to enter:
  • Either complete the  online race entry at the CYA shop or complete the manual entry form and mail to the CYA.
  • Various payment options are available – internet bank transfer is preferred.
  • Make sure you carefully read the relevant Notice Of Race and Sailing Instructions below
  • Turn up on the start line!
  • Note: Entry cut off is the Wednesday preceding the race.

Detailed programme of events

Race HQ The Dinghy Locker at the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron (RNZYS), Westhaven will be our Race HQ and will have the notice board and daily course and weather updates. Sailing Instructions and more information will be available at the Skippers & Crews Briefing on Thursday 02 March, starting at 1830hrs, at RNZYS.

Parking is available in Westhaven Marina, in the visitor car park area (white lines ONLY)

Prizegivings Informal prizegivings will be held on Friday and Saturday nights after racing and the Official Regatta Prizegiving will be on Sunday evening. Friends, family and supporters are welcome to attend and enjoy all the social evenings, especially on Sunday for the official Prizegiving.

Thursday 02 March
1830hrs – Doors open for early registration at RNZYS Race HQ (Dinghy Locker). Cash bar available
1900hrs  – Race Briefing begins. Registration and skippers information will be available for collection – it is essential that either the skipper or designated crew member is present
2000hrs – Welcome dinner for CYAA visitors in the Quarterdeck Restaurant – all CYA members invited to attend this dinner – please RSVP to James Mortimer (CYA Yacht Captain) by 1st March. Quarterdeck menu is available on the RNZYS website – choose any two courses for $39pp or any three courses for $49pp

Friday 03 March
0930hrs – Coffee and pastries available at Race HQ along with weather updates
1300hrs  – Race 1  (Harbour Course)
1800hrs onwards –  Informal Prize giving at Race HQ. Cash bar and food available

Saturday 04 March
0700hrs – Coffee and pastries available at Race HQ Bar along with weather updates.
1000hrs – Race 2 followed by Race 3  (Northern Leading Area Courses)
1800hrs onwards – Informal Prizegiving at Race HQ. Cash bar and food available

Sunday 05 March 
0730hrs – Coffee and pastries available at Race HQ along with weather updates
1000hrs – Launches assemble off Queens Wharf
1015 to 1040hrs – Parade of Classic Launches through the Westhaven start area past the RNZYS
1040hrs onwards – Launch cruise to Riverhead Pub
1100hrs -Race 4 (Harbour Course)
1800hrs onwards – Official Prizegiving at Race HQ.  Presentation of trophies, including presentation of CYA Launch Trophy for best presented launch and the spot prize draws.Skippers MUST be present to go in the draw. Sunday evening’s dinner will be a scrumptious BBQ availble to everyone for $25pp

Spot prizes 

A great array of prizes will be on offer again – including Emirates Airline Holiday Package, Takacat Inflatable, Explore Group ‘Bay of Islands Package’, Steiner Binoculars, Yamaha Outboard, Kiwi Feather Props, Coast NZ product, Mt Gay Rum and more……

Friday and Saturday:  Spot Prizes may be claimed by a crew member of the boat drawn.

Sunday: The helmsperson or owner who signed the entry form MUST be present to collect spot prizes or they will be redrawn.

Yacht berthage

Berths will be available at the events berthing dock right outside Race HQ at RNZYS. We would like to get as many boats in here as possible, dressed up, and looking great for the weekend. This is a great opportunity for quick and easy access to the boat for the weekend. If you would like a berth, please contact James Mortimer (CYA Yacht Captain).
