Cara was built in 1977 using Des Townson’s drawings for his yacht Dreamtime. As Des is quoted as saying in the recently published book “Des Townson – A Sailing Legacy”: “Bruno Zanderigo built Cara from these drawings and that was a beautiful boat”.

Des also comments favourably on Bruno’s next boat, the 36-footer Azzurra, which the book notes was “drawn for close friend Bruno Zanderigo”, and which Des describes as “a superbly built boat and would be the best presented of all my boats.”

We agree that Cara is not only beautifully built, but is also a sensational looking boat, and after 15 years of ownership we are very reluctant sellers. But with our six grandchildren growing up fast we need a bigger boat to get the best out of the next period of our lives.

A full list of specifications can be provided on request, but the following is a summary of Cara’s main features.
