Kennedy Bay Weekend
Calling all classic vessels enthusiasts for a rally down to this iconic bay on Waiheke island.
Cruise or enter in the 5th Passage series race and enjoy the end of the afternoon on the KB lawn, and let L’Authentique and the CYA entertain you with live music, barbecue and as usual good camaraderie.

RALLYING:
Saturday
1115 hours, start of the log rally.
What is a log rally you say?
It’s rally where you are given a start time from the committee boat. You are given a number of way points to round before finishing on the finish line. You set your own finish time by charting the speed, tides, winds etc to calculate your eta. Without looking at a clock… you adjust your speed and direction as you progress. Finisher closest to their eta wins. A good test of seamanship and understanding your vessel.
There are a series of 3 log rallies in the 2025-2026 calendar. With a series prize giving (including most improved) at the Lawson’s Dry Hills Round Rangitoto Themed Cake Day 2026. Enter the log rally below!
Alternatively, cruise down and rally on down to Kennedy Bay by Saturday evening for a fabulous social gathering and dance.
If you have not entered the log rally, thank you to enter the boat rally below to contribute towards the band and amenities ($20 per boat).
Sunday
Cruise back home (or not!) along with the rest of the classic fleet.
RACING:
Saturday 1100 hours: The 5th race of the passage series, from Orakei Buoy.

OFF-WATER EVENT:
Saturday 1600 hours, Gaffers, Sloop & launches Cricket tournament with a L’Authentique picnic pack to be won.
1800 hours Prizegiving and the CYA Kennedy Bay Party, sponsored by L’Authentique
Featuring live entertainment from the Dave Alley Band, with local legend Aaron Carpenter.
Let us make it easier for you by supplying and cooking choice cuts of beef filet, chicken, burger patties, sausages, breads and condiments.
Just bring your dancing feet, picnic blankets, snacks, salads and drinks, and get ready to boogie the night away.
Disposable plates and cutlery will be available if you don’t prefer your own.
