CYA Patio Bay Weekend
A celebration of classic boats, good company, and fun on and off the water!
Join us in the Classic Boat Rally, or the Patio Bay Classic Yacht Race – the 2nd race in the Passage Series.
“When the journey ends, the stories begin”. Gather down on the beach for some off-water-fun, followed by the BBQ; bring your food and drinks and enjoy an evening of camaraderie and celebration.
Program of Events
RALLYING:
Saturday
From 10:30, Classic Boat Rally, Open to all classic launches, and yachts.
Watch from a distance as the Patio Bay Classic Yacht Race starts at 1045 and 1100 hours from Orakei buoy, followed by the log rally competitors.
Then gather and rally down to Patio Bay, or join up in the bay in your own time… before 1530hrs recommended.
Thank you for keeping well clear of any racing vessel.
1130 hours, start of the Log Rally. Put your entry in below!
From 1600 hours, up in Patio Bay, come take part in the Pirate-Themed near-off-water event. Check details and RSVP below!
Sunday
Wake up to the wonder of Patio Bay and its classic dwellers, gather ashore for a morning coffee and stroll before cruising home (or not!) with the rest of the fleet.
RACING:
Saturday from 1045 hours from Orakei buoy, first start of the 2nd Passage Series race, open to all boats from Classic A Division, Classic B Division, and Modern Classic Division, including Townson.

OFF-WATER EVENT:
Theme: Upon popular demand, the pirate theme is back!
Dress : Anything related to pirates, be creative, all sorts of best-dressed prizes to be won.
Prizes: Yacht racers, log rallyers, crew draw, dinghy rowers, best dressed, treasure racing …, even ‘first crew to shore’ up for grab
Dining: Bring your delicacies to put on the 3 BBQ’s provided and gather by the house.
Entertainment: Following traditional socialising aboard, will start from 1630 hours with the dinghy race and treasure hunt, followed by music, good company, and of course, the rum barrels…
From 1630 hours (Race dependant, listen in on VHF Channel 17) crew gather ashore with a dinghy with oars for the dinghy race.
Followed by the treasure hunts, with launch and yacht divisions.
