Round Rangitoto Themed Cake Day
Calling all classic boaties for the final passage event of the 2025-2026 season! This is the 6th and final race in the passage series.
Either join the rally, yacht racing, or log rally, with prize giving at the Themed Cake Day.
So start thumbing through your cookbooks for your best cake recipes and get them to the old tennis community center at Isy bay.
There will be prizes for best tasting, best decorated, best manmade cakes and supreme winner.
Program of Events
RALLYING:
Join the CYA Round Rangitoto launch and yacht rally for a picturesque circumnavigation of Auckland’s most iconic volcano.
Enter the log rally to spice up the event.
Then meet up in Islington bay, ashore at the old Tennis Pavillion for the Lawson’s Dry Hills Victorian Cake Day (see details below).
RACING:
The 6th and final race in the passage series.
This CYA ran race starts at Northern Leading buoy, from 1100hrs and finishes at Islington bay with prizegiving and the Lawson’s Dry Hills Victorian Cake Day (see details below).

Victorian Cake Day
Cake competition with prizes for best tasting, best decorated, best manmade cakes and supreme winner.
Held ashore at the old tennis community center at Isy bay (200m walk off Islington wharf. Low tide is scheduled for 1953 hours).
Theme: Victorian. Adorn your most flamboyant period outfit or your best Chad Thompson moustache. Victorian China encouraged.
