Mahurangi Weekend
A favorite event on the CYA calendar, over the weekend the ‘Mahurangi’ harbour becomes a haven for Classic lovers, where launches, sailboats and dinghies converge for three days of fun and frivolity.
Program of Events
RALLYING:
Friday:
All launches cruising to Mahurangi, you may wish to follow the fleet at 1530
Saturday:
0900 hours, At Mahurangi, start off the day’s with shore activities in Sullivans Bay, sand sculpture, sea kayak race, sack race, tug of war, swimming races, dinghy races, pétanque, 3-legged races and much much more.
0930 hours, Classic launch parade muster off Scotts Landing.
Mahurangi Launch Parade Course 2026
1100 hours, On your boat or on-shore, enjoy watch the classic yachts as they race up and down the harbour and out around Saddle island.
1830 hours, The CYA Mahurangi BBQ feast sponsored by L’Authentique and Lidgard Sails . Grab your ticket below!
Sunday:
0900 hours, ‘Sunday morning 10.30am follow the yachts on their CYA race for home or cruise home at your leisure to be ready for Mondays Anniversary Regatta
RACING:
Friday:
The 3rd race in the CYA Passage Series, the DYC Night race to Mahurangi, starts easterly from Devonport Yacht Club, from 1500hrs.

Saturday:
Mahurangi Regatta, organized by the Mahurangi Yacht Club.

Mahurangi return race, the 4th race in the Passage series, run by the CYA, start from 1030 hrs.

CYA BBQ ON THE LAWN
Saturday 1830hrs, The CYA Mahurangi BBQ feast sponsored by L’Authentique and Lidgard Sails,
Join us by the CYA flags on the grass at Scotts landing for the feast. A selection of gourmet cuts of beef filet, chicken, patties, and the famous authentic French charcuterie sausages, served with breads and condiments. Delicately cooked by own CYA chefs.
Just bring your picnic blankets, snacks, salads and drinks, and let us do the rest.
