What We Do

Rallying, Racing, Social Evenings and Meet-Ups

The CYA organises and or promotes a varied array of events throughout the year to bring the community of classic vessels enthusiasts together.

Racing your classic vessels?

Summertime offers both a Harbour and Passage Series - of 6 races each - hosted by a varied array of yacht clubs, while the RNZYS winter series offers  classic divisions.

Notes:

  • Racing Series entries must be received by 25 September.
  • Late series entries may be requested to the Race Committee before the third race of the relevant series.
  • Casual entries deadline, for any race, is 5:30pm on the Thursday preceding.

Not into racing, we've got you covered!

Check out our rallies, cruises and social events organised year-round around the Waitemata Harbour and Hauraki Gulf.

This year we are introducing a 3 log rally series open to all classic vessels.

What is a log rally you say?

A log rally is a rally where you are given a start time from the committee boat and a number of way points to round before finishing on the finish line.
You then set your own finish time by charting the speed, tides, winds etc to calculate your eta. Without looking at a clock, you adjust your speed and direction as you progress.
Finisher closest to their eta wins. A good test of seamanship and understanding your vessel.

We are grateful to be supported by a number of businesses and organisations.

Please support them in return when you can.
