WOODEN BOAT FESTIVAL 13 – 15TH MARCH 2026

 

 

The Auckland Wooden Boat Festival will showcase a spectacular collection of more than 200 classic boats, models, and maritime memorabilia from yesteryear   –   both on and off the water.

Get up close to some of Auckland’s most fascinating maritime history, stories, and treasures along the waterfront.

  • Classic yachts launched between 1880–1949
  • Classic launches launched between 1880–1949
  • Classic dinghies
  • Indigenous Pacific and Asian craft
  • Classic boat models
  • Early steam and mechanical engines
  • Historic trophies dating back to the earliest days of yacht racing
  • Live boat-building demonstrations
  • Sail-making exhibits
  • Nautical books, charts, and maritime memorabilia

On the Water & On the Shore:

  • Steam boat rides
  • The sounds of sea shanties and contemporary music filling the air
  • A dedicated Kids’ Zone for the young — and the young at heart
