Bruce Tantrum Farewell

On Wednesday the 5th November a memorial service was held for family and friends at the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron to farewell a well known identity, Bruce Tantrum.  The room was full to overflowing, and included long-time sailing connections from Australia, with online connections to Australia, Japan, France, UK and California.

Many tributes were spoken during the afternoon, a testimony of the many people Bruce had touched during his 87 years.   We were reminded of his many connections to the sailing world, his many contributions and recognitions.

Bruces grandchildren and great grandchildren spoke of their experiences, love and respect for Bruce.

Some of the 200+ beautiful yacht models Bruce had created were displayed around the room in glass cases, a testament to his wonderful craftsmanship.
