The CYA invites you all to come along for a night of laughs, tall tales, and suspiciously selective memory as we celebrate the achievements of our boats and crews at the Annual Prizegiving at Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron on Wednesday 27 May.
It’s been a classic sailing season: one part racing, one part character building in extremes of wind and weather. The calendar was tossed around somewhat, but we still squeezed the cake baking competition into the Vintage and Veterans Day. Well done Mary Brooks for her spectacular winch cake.
The divisions were brilliantly represented this year, especially at the Perpetual Guardian Regatta, Patio Bay, and Kennedy Bay, where crews proved that sailing all day and rocking on through the night is not only possible, but apparently a tradition.
Some boats have earned silverware, some win stories, and some are still trying to find that fender they lost in February.
Come along to celebrate the victories, the near misses, the heroic recoveries, and the moments from another unforgettable season.
